In terms of how much of the youth in Mindanao will respond to the invitation of the President that they join the Philippine National Police (PNP), we would like to convey to them the kind of profession they can go into once they choose to become a policeman and hopefully we can attract the best and brightest in the youth sector, both men and women.
Thus said Vice-Chairman and Executive Officer Eduardo U. Escueta of the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) during his recent visit to Cagayan de Oro City.
Speaking before the media about this year’s recruitment of police officers, Escueta said that the objective of recruiting women is to have a core of female police officers who can be assigned to women’s desk all over the country and focus on how we can better protect the women and children of our country who are vulnerable to crime.
Escueta said that recently Pres. Arroyo has directed PNP to recruit about 10,000 police officers this year.
Meanwhile, NAPOLCOM announces the nationwide conduct of the PNP Entrance and Promotional Examinations on April 25, 2010. The period of filing for applications which started last February 01, 2010 will end on March 15, 2010.
